Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) participated in Metal-Expo’2018, the 24th International Industrial Exhibition, in Moscow.
Traditionally, MMK’s stand was one of the biggest and the most impressive at the forum. Its visitors were able to explore a wide range of products and technological capabilities from both MMK plant itself and MMK Group’s companies. Among them, “MMK-Lysva Metallurgical Plant”, which is presenting a product range unique in Russia: electrogalvanized rolled products and rolled products with polymer coating with Print technology. Specifically, premium types of rolled products with polymer coating under the SteelArt and Muar brands are showcased.
MMK’s stand places particular importance on high-strength and wear-resistant import-substituting steel under the MAGSTRONG brand. This type of steel is used to produce and repair construction, quarry and other specialty machinery, loaded steel structures, in the manufacture of the equipment for processing rocks, shaft sinking and other types of high-tech products. Among the latest products of MAGSTRONG’s product line are fundamentally new brands MAGSTRONG AGRO22 and MAGSTRONG AGRO33. This type of steel is intended primarily for enterprises producing attachments and components for tillage, sowing and harvesting machinery.
MMK also presented the system of operational and calendar planning (AS OKPP), which had been designed and implemented at the plant. The presentation of the system took place at a special conference titled “Calendar and operational planning of production”, devoted to design, implementation and operation of the corporate AS OKPP, organized by MMK and Technology Centre Ausferr. The conference was attended by the representatives of various departments running the system of operational and calendar planning as well as those managing the project. Speakers of the company presented a retrospective analysis of the decision-making process used to reach this software decision, the real-life experience of its implementation into MMK and plans for its further development. The project to create as AS OKPP is an important element in the implementation of the plant logistics concept “Just in Time” that implies fully coherent work at the enterprise in terms of product manufacturing, which enables to produce and deliver to customers any product in pre-set periods of time and save money by reducing variable costs and warehouse maintenance.
