According to the forecast of the Ministry of economic development, in 2018 Russia will produce 61.5 million tons of rolled metal, up by 0.9% YoY.
Exports are expected at the level of 28 million tons, up by 0.3%.
Imports will grow by 1.4%, to 5.5 million tons, and local consumption – also by 1.4%, to 39 million tons.
The manufacture of steel pipes will be 11.1 million tons, down by 3% YoY, with exports down by 6.6%, to 2 million tons, and imports by 27.7%, to 0.52 million tons, and local consumption at 9.6 million tons, down by 4%. (Ukrainian metal)
