Russia: Bratsk Works construction project in development

The Metprom Group of Companies is designing a mini-works to produce bars in the town of Bratsk – the Bratsk Iron and Steel Works.

The plant in the Irkutsk region is supposed to have a capacity of 270 thousand tons per year.

Ukraine: Mittal to invest $1.5 billion in AMKR development

ArcelorMittal intends to invest some $1.5 billion in the development of its Kriviy Rih plant.

This year $400 million will be invested.

In 2006-2017 investments totaled $4.5 billion.

Kazakhstan: KAZ Minerals copper output up in January-September 2018

In January-September KAZ Minerals increased raw copper output by 12% YoY, to 216.8 thousand tons.

According to the group statement, in Q3 output grew by 7% QoQ, to 77.2 thousand tons.

Russia: scrap imports from Kazakhstan down in January-August 2018

In January-August Russia imported 358.7 thousand tons of ferrous metal scrap from Kazakhstan, down by 13.4% YoY.

According to the customs statistics, the average price was $266.4 per ton without VAT, up by 44.7%.

In 8 months the cost of scrap increased by 8.1%, to $94 million. (Ukrainian metal)
