Due to the implementation of energy saving techniques Abinsky Electrometallurgical Works was able to considerably increase output.
In November 2017 the arc furnace shop suspended operation due to the breakdown of the arc furnace transformer. In March the operation was resumed, and the works reached the full capacity again.
One of the records was set in the time of refractory materials usage in the arc furnace. In 2 months 1831 smeltings were carried out at the furnace, which is a record-high result among similar steel-smelting units operating in Russia. The number of furnaces changes decreased 1.5-fold.
“Now instead of 12 times, we will change the furnace 8 times per year”, the first deputy CEO Ivan Demchenko declared.
The works has also set a record in electrode usage – 20 per one shift.
Moreover the company was able to increase steel cast billet output by 400 tons per day YoY. (Ukrainian metal)
