Altai-Koks will invest some 4 billion rubles in modernization of the coke-oven plant No. 5.
“We’re operating on 5 coke-oven plants, and the fifth one will be reconstructed, we’re switching to the ramming technique. It will increase the efficiency of the plant. The project will be carried out in 2 years”, the company CEO Pavel Lizogub said.
According to him, the reconstructed coke-oven plant will be the first in Russia and the third in the world to use this technique.
“And as to its parameters it will be the most efficient plant in the world, as none has ever transformed the existing technique into the ramming”, he added.
Altai-Koks is one of the largest by-product coke enterprises in Russia, producing some 4.7 million tons of coke per year, or around 15% of the total Russian output. (Ukrainian metal)
