In April Russia produced 6.03 million tons of steel, up by 2.4% YoY (6.23 million tons in March). In January-April steel output totaled 23.797 million tons, up by 0.9% YoY.
Ukraine increased steel output by 6% YoY, to 1.721 million tons (1.711 million tons), with 6.985 million tons produced in the first 4 months of 2018, down by 0.2%.
Kazakhstan produced 420 thousand tons of steel in April, up by 7.4% (432 thousand tons), and 1.588 million tons in January-April, up by 7.9%.
Steel output in Belarus in April dropped by 45.8%, to 110 thousand tons (115 thousand tons). In 4 months manufacture decreased by 17.3%, to 594 thousand tons.
Uzbekistan decreased steel output by 12.3% YoY, to 50 thousand tons in April (53 thousand tons), and by 2.8%, to 205 thousand tons in January-April.
Moldova produced 60 thousand tons, flat MoM, but up by 114.3% YoY. In January-April steel output totaled 199 thousand tons, up by 201.5%.
All in all in April CIS countries produced 8.391 million tons of steel, up by 2.4% YoY (8.601 million tons in March) and 33.368 million tons in 4 months, up by 1%. (Ukrainian metal)
