Primorsky Mining and Processing Works will prepare a new project to develop tungsten ore deposit Skrytoye in Primorye region. This the company is forced to do as the budget has found no funds to reconstruct a road, without which the previous project cannot be carried out.
According to the company deputy CEO on foreign economic activity Roman Makulov, previously it was supposed to process ore from the deposits at the factory in the Vistok village. To deliver ore to the factory it was necessary to overhaul the road with the length of some 250 km. The infrastructure project had to be carried out with the funds of the regional and federal budgets.
“In April the company management met with the acting governor Andrey Tarasenko and other members of the regional authorities. They said there would be no money for the road reconstruction. All they could now help with was the speed up of new documents preparation”, Makulov said.
But the company cannot carry out the reconstruction project on its own. The site is too large and complex. Now it will rework the project, which might take up to 5 years. Thus, construction might start in 2023. (Ukrainian metal)
