In March Russia produced 5.7 million tons of steel, down by 10% YoY (5.15 million tons in February). In January-March steel output dropped by 6.7%, to 16.55 million tons.
Ukraine increased steel output by 4.7% YoY, to 1.711 million tons (1.608 million tons), with 5.225 million tons produced in Q1, down by 2.8% YoY.
In March Kazakhstan manufactured 350 thousand tons of steel, down by 7.9% YoY (315 thousand tons), with 1.015 million tons produced in Q1, down by 4.2%.
Belarus increased steel output by 27.8% in March, to 230 thousand tons (210 thousand tons). In 3 months steel manufacture grew by 30.1%, to 670 thousand tons.
Uzbekistan produced 60 thousand tons of steel in March, up by 13.2% (55 thousand tons), and 175 thousand tons in 3 months, up by 13.6%.
Moldova manufactured 50 thousand tons of steel in March, up by 31.6% (45 thousand tons), and 145 thousand tons in Q1, up by 281.6%.
All in all in March CIS countries produced 8.101 million tons of steel, down by 6% YoY (7.383 million tons in February) and 23.78 million tons in Q1, down by 4.4% YoY. (Ukrainian metal)
