Belarus Iron and Steel Works (BMZ trademark) plans to supply $40 million worth of products to Ukraine in 2018, the company’s representatives declared following the “Made in Belarus” expo.
“As for the 2018 plans, we will probably sell 100,000 tons of products (around $40 million) to this market. We have ambitious plans. BMZ has a strategy for this market and hopes that the growth will continue in the medium term,” the company said.
According to the BMZ representatives, the company’s growth in Ukraine peaked in 2017 when the exports grew almost 6-fold.
“The Ukrainian market has become more active, the economy has been growing. These are our neighbors with a comfortable geographical position. This is why this market is among the most promising ones for us,” BMZ clarified.
In Q1 the company boosted the exports to Ukraine: reinforcing bars for construction, rolled steel for mechanical engineering, metal cord, and wire for different purposes. (BelTA/Ukrainian metal)
