Rosterminalugol, the largest dedicated coal terminal in the European part of Russia with state-of-the-art coal handling technology (a part of coal holding Port Management Company) celebrated yet another coal transshipment milestone. Since 2003 the terminal has exported 150 million tons of coal, the terminal operator said in a press release.
The 150-millionth ton was loaded onto the Nordic Olympic. The Panamax bulk carrier took on board more than 72800 tons of coal. The ship became the 12th this month and the 39th since January. The loading operation took 32 hours.
In 2017 the terminal handled 140-millionth ton in September.
In 2017 coal throughput of Rosterminalugol grew by 38% YoY, to a record high of 25 million tons (over 60% of coal exports through the ports of Russia’s Baltic Basin). (PortNews/Ukrainian metal)
