SL Zoloto, a joint venture between Polyus and Rostec-Business Development, has initiated a 180,000-meter survey drilling program at Sukhoi Log, the biggest gold greenfield project, in Russia’s Irkutsk region, Polyus said in a statement on November 21.
“The campaign, which is scheduled to last for two years, will provide the basis for Polyus to update the block model for the deposit and for both Ore Reserve and Measured and Indicated Mineral Resource estimates in accordance with the JORC Code,” the statement said.
In January, SL Zoloto won an auction to develop the Sukhoi Log deposit. At that time, Polyus held 51% in the joint venture, and Rostec-Business Development had the remaining 49%. (Prime/Ukrainian metal)
