PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih will allocate 15 million UAH in social projects for Shirokovskiy district, Dnepropetrovsk region, a place where company’s mining facilities are located.
The Agreement on social co-operation for social & economic development between the state administration of Shirokovskiy district, Shirokovskiy district council and PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih has been signed by Chief Executive Officer Paramjit Kahlon, Head of state administration of Shirokovskiy district Sergey Lanchkovskiy and Head of Shirokovskiy district council Alexander Kokul. As stipulated in the Agreement, in 2017-2018 PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih will provide financial support for realization of social projects for creation of more convenient living conditions for the citizens of Shirokovskiy district:
- UAH 5 million – for purchasing and installation of the energy saving system of electric heating at the social facilities of Shirokovskiy district – in 2017;
- UAH 10 million – for routine repair of the road Т-04-178 (Mykolayiv-Kriviy Rih) from the entry of the village Shesternya through the village Ganovka till the border of Kherson region – in 2018.
Realization of such social projects is a part of ArcelorMittal’ Sustainable Development Concept aiming at supporting local communities, area development and improvement of living conditions for the local communities living in the region where PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih is carrying out its business activity.

Vladimir Teslyuk, Chief Operating Officer (Mining Department): “The localities of Shirokovskiy district are in close proximity to the company’s industrial facilities, such as dump yards of mining and ore dressing, tailing pond Mirolyubovskoye and Objedinyonnoye. That is why our program for the area development and creation of convenient living conditions is focused on the inhabitants of this very district. It is not the first year when we cooperate with it. In today’s dynamic business environment, taking care of people and children remains our top priority.
