In August Russia produced 4.9 million tons of pig iron, down by 5.9% YoY (4.915 million tons in July). In January-July Russia produced 40.001 million tons, down by 3% YoY.
Ukraine in August decreased pig iron output by 8.8% YoY, to 1.79 million tons (as in July), and by 17.2% YoY in January-August, to 13.238 million tons.
Kazakhstan produced 350 thousand tons of pig iron in August (as in July), up by 12.5% YoY, and 2.612 million tons in 8 months, up by 25.4% YoY.
All in all in August CIS countries produced 7.04 million tons of pig iron, down by 5.9% YoY (7.055 million tons in July), and 55.851 million tons in 8 months, down by 5.8% YoY. (Ukrainian metal)
