On August 4, PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih, the biggest steel and mining company of Ukraine, celebrates its birthday. 83 years ago that day the first blast furnace of Kriviy Rih steel plant was blown in and produced the first hot metal. Nowadays PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih is a part of the international ArcelorMittal company, which is a global steel leader and the biggest foreign investor in Ukraine.
Paramjit Kahlon, CEO, PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih: “Today we celebrate one of the most significant days in the calendar of our company – this is its birthday. Looking back, we can see the rich history of our company and the achievements of all those people who stood at the origin of the plant. PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih has been always playing an important role in the development of Kriviy Rih city and the whole region and is a key to prosperity of not only our employees’ families, but also to stable economic development of the region and the whole country. We honor the best traditions established by previous generations. However today we work in new conditions and we must keep pace with new requirements. That is why we implement the large-scale investment program: we construct new coke oven batteries, continuous casting machines, modernize rolling mills, BOF and sinter plants, repair blast furnaces. We are changing to stay a leader on the steel market of Ukraine and in this competitive environment.
