The decree on the prolongation of the ferrous scrap export duty on 30 euro per ton for 2 years cannot be vetoed by the president of Ukraine, the member of the parliament, the chairman of the parliament committee on industrial policy and entrepreneurship Victor Galasyuk believes.
“The term to sign or veto the decree given to the president by the Constitution expired some 10 days ago. According to the Constitution, if within the given term the president does not veto a decree, it is considered approved of by the president, and has to be published and come into effect. So there is no legal basis now to veto the decree”, he said.
He also reminded that the decree was supported by 260 members of the parliament.
“So we are all waiting for the president to sign the decree to protect Ukrainian metal makers”, Galasyuk added. (Ukrainian metal)
