The government of Ukraine will ask the president to sign the decree on the extension of the scrap export duties of 30 euro per ton, the Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman said in London.

“Under the military aggression Ukraine needs metal to provide for its own defense”, he said.

In September 2016 the president Petr Poroshenko signed a decree that set the scrap export duty at 30 euro per ton for 1 year.

In early June the Verkhovnaya Rada voted to prolong the duty for 2 years. This will provide the necessary raw materials for metal companies. (Ukrainian metal)
