PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih intends to purchase each premises located at Lavrenyova and Chystopilska streets (also known as “Zhukovka village”) in Saksahanskiy district of Kriviy Rih at the price of UAH 450 thousand. In general, this is 32 single-story dwelling houses and outbuildings constructed in 1950-1955, located in dangerous zone of ground motion due to mining works earlier executed here.
Planning further minerals extraction in this area, PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih strictly abides by the right of each house and landowner due to the Civil Code and offers to conclude the agreements between parties. Company will do its best to prevent manipulation of social opinion and provocations in the interests of individual concerned parties and asks the residents of Zhukovka village to hold negotiations only with contact persons of the company by telephone numbers specified in official proposition.
Yuriy Martynyuk, General Counsel of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih: “The impact on Zhukovka village started and continued long before ArcelorMittal company came to Ukraine. Due to mining works in this area the infrastructure has significantly worsened, regular water, heat and electricity supplies were disrupted. As of now PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih plans further development of iron ore deposit in this area. The works will be performed according to the project of the state company Kryvbasproekt, which was updated in 2014 and passed through all state expertise. After the start of this development, within approaching to mined-out space of Batkivshyna mine, the risk of surface subsidence with formation of craters, which can affect houses, is increasing. PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih covers all relocation expenditures, ensuring the residents of Zhukovka village with more conformable living conditions. Being a responsible business, working within ArcelorMittal international company, PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih is obliged to make the relocation process maximally open and transparent in order to prevent violations of legal rights of the citizens-house owners”.
