Because of the Donbass blockade Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works is operating with only one blast furnace.
According to the co-chairman of the Opposition block in the parliament Alexander Vilkul, the furnace makes only 6 smeltings per day. If the works is shut down, local budget will lose taxes.
The city works are industrially linked with enterprises of Donbass, Dniepropetrovsk region, and the blockade destroys these links.
Because of the lack of Donbass coal and raw materials Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works and Alchevskkoks have already suspended operation. Avdiivka Coke and Mariupol Ilyich had to decrease output.
Yenakievo Iron and Steel Works and Krasnodonugol have stopped. Dneprovsky Works is on the brink of the shutdown as well. (Ukrainian metal)
