Rosterminalugol JSC, the largest dedicated coal port in the Baltic region, a part of Russia’s largest coal port holding Port Management Company LLC, says it handled 3 million tons of coal in January-February.
The milestone ton was loaded onto Panamax ship Lucky, the 49th vessel handled at the terminal from the year beginning. In February the terminal handled 26 vessels. Average shipload was about 62,700 tons. Maximum loading rate – 41,800 tons per shift (12 hours).
In February loading exceeded 1.63 million tons (in the same period of 2016 – slightly more than 1 million tons).
In February Rosterminalugol unloaded 20,843 wagons with 1.49 million tons of coal (17,612 wagons with 1.25 million tons of coal). Maximum unloading per shift and per day was 448 and 888 wagons accordingly.
In 2016, throughput of Rosterminalugol grew by 3.4% YoY, to a record high result of 18 million tons (over 60% of coal transshipment in the ports of Russia’s Baltic Basin). In 2016, Managing Port Company LLC launched the project on further modernization of the terminal. (Portnews/Ukrainian metal)
