In 2016 Chelaybinsk Pipe Works and Pervouralsk Pipe Works shipped 1.713 million tons of pipes to customers, down by 15% YoY.
The decrease is explained with the change in delivery schedule to Gazprom and the drop in demand. The largest decrease was in the large diameter pipes segment (27%).
At the same time ChTPZ was able to increase premium-thread pipes sales by 10%, to 9 thousand tons. The highest increase in deliveries to the local market was in small diameter welded pipes (by 8 thousand tons), shaped pipes (by 6.8 thousand tons) and cold-deformed pipes (by 7.7 thousand tons).
The share of ChTPZ on the Russian pipe market in 2016 reached 16.5%.
Exports increased by 31%, to 263 thousand tons.
“In 2017 ChTPZ expects the sales to be on 2016 level. Our strategic plans are to increase export deliveries because of the growing competitiveness on the local market to diversify sales. We want to increase our share on the market of seamless pipes and expand our presence in the Near East, North and South America”, the group CEO Alexander Grubman said. (Ukrainian metal)
