Coal Energy S.A. (Luxembourg) with assets in Ukraine in January reduced coal production by 28.6% (by 11,633 tons) as compared to the same period of 2016, to 29,035 tons, the press service of the company has said.
Compared with December 2016 the fall was even more significant – 43.7% (by 22,502 tons).
Coal Energy includes ten coalmines, rock dumps processing facilities and objects for enrichment. The company sells coal to thermal power companies, coke chemical, cement plants and municipalities. It also exports goods to Bulgaria, Slovakia, Moldova and Turkey. The company’s business was significantly affected by the hostilities in Donbass. (Interfax/Ukrainian metal)
