According to the Association of sea trade ports of the Russian Federation, in 2016 ferrous metals transshipment increased by 6.7% YoY, to 721.9 million tons.

Arctic ports transshipped 49.7 million tons of ferrous metals, up by 40.6% YoY, Baltic ports – 236.6 million tons, up by 2.5%, Azov – Black Sea ports – 244 million tons, up by 4.8%, and Far Eastern ports – 185.5 million tons, up by 8.3%. Caspian ports decreased ferrous metals transshipment by 9.6% YoY, to 6.1 million tons.

Russian ports also increased coal transshipment by 19.5% YoY, to 136.3 million tons, and ore – by 29.6%, to 8.7 million tons. At the same time scrap throughput dropped by 5.5% YoY, to 4 million tons. (Ukrainian metal)
