Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works CEO Yuri Zinchenko says he will oppose Ukrzaliznytsia’s cargo transportation tariff increase in 2017.
“Another round of this story begins. But I think we will battle them, though I’m unsure if we will succeed. It’s easier for Ukrzaliznytsia to increase tariffs to survive another year instead of modernizing and optimizing its management”, he said.
According to him, even if tariffs are increased, Ukrzaliznytsia should be controlled while spending this money.
“So that they buy 5-10 thousand new wagons, or modernize railroad, or buy enough fuel for a year. We are tired of hearing that Ukrzaliznytsia has no fuel to carry our cargo”, Zinchenko said. (Ukrainian metal)
