In Q3 Evraz Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works drastically decreased steel smelting.
According to the company statement, this had to do with using slab stocks for production.
Carbon steel production in July-September dropped by 9.4% QoQ, to 264 thousand tons, while that of pig iron increased by 4.1%, to 286 thousand tons. Semi-finished product manufacture went up by 29.1% QoQ, to 167 thousand tons, while that of structure steel dropped by 41.9%, to 55 thousand tons. (Ukrainian metal)
