Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works has signed an agreement with Primetals Technologies Austria GmbH for construction of the 4th continuous casting machine.
According to the company CEO Yuri Zinchenko, the contract was signed on September 5.
“Our new machine will be able to produce 2.5 million tons of slabs per year with the size of 170-250×900-1550 mm”, he said.
All the preliminary work has been done and the construction will start in autumn. The CCM is expected to be put into operation in 2018. The project cost is $150 million. (Ukrainian metal)
