Central Mining and Processing Works CEO Dmitry Shevchik suggests to implement the European practice of accumulating environment payments in special funds to be spent on environment protective measures of the payee.
“There was such an experiment in Ukraine once, but it didn’t go far. I suggest to return to this initiative and to allow the companies who implement new ecological standards to use the money they pay as the environment tax”, he said.
Since 2012 Metinvest (CGOK is its part) has paid 585 million UAH of this tax. (Ukrainian metal)
