In September Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works will start an overhaul of its converter No. 2. In particular, it will include the modernization of the gas-purifying system.
The overhaul will cost over 230 million UAH. The project is a part of the Mariupol environmental program for 2012-2020. It was presented in April. As the result of the overhaul the works will meet European ecological standards by decreasing pollution 2.5 times.
