Ukraine: Ukrzaliznytsia helping Russian miners

The Verkhovnaya Rada industrial policy and entrepreneurship committee chairman Victor Galasyuk wants to discuss the actions of Ukrzaliznytsia in giving preferences in transportation to manufacturers from other countries and not providing such privileges to local ones.

The committee wants this problem discussed at the meeting of the Council for National Security and Defense.

Ukrzaliznytsia has been giving privileged transport tariffs for Russian iron ore, which decreases Ukrainian ore competitiveness. In particular, in March railroad tariffs for Russian ore in volumes of over 350 thousand tons per month were decreased by 15% when delivered to Eastern Europe and by 25% when delivered through Odessa ports.

At the same time Ukrzaliznytsia wants local tariffs increased by 15%. (Ukrainian metal)
