In 2015 ferrous metals scarp supplies to metal companies decreased by 25%, to 3.1 million tons.
Thus steel-making industry needs were 22% short of scrap.
At the same time scrap-procuring companies increased exports by 30%, from 0,9 million tons to 1.2 million tons. This resulted in interruption in deliveries and made metal works halt their production. (Ukrainian metal)
