Dzerzhinskugol has summed up its operation in 2015.
Before the Russia-supported military activities broke out in 2014, the company employed 5150 people. With the annual goal of 500 thousand tons of coal, it mined 547 thousand tons. Since the war started the staff lost some 1800 employees, and the output fell to 266.7 thousand tons of coal.
The main problem of the company is the delay in paying salary. As of January 12, November 2015 debts total 7.5 million UAH, with 27.5 million UAH for December 2015.
The company decided to ask the local authorities, as well as the government to support the coal industry.
If the demands of the miners are not met, Dzerzhinskugol has decided to start protesting actions and meetings organized at the mines and in towns, as well as under the President’s administration and Parliament buildings. (Ukrainian metal)
