A group of pipe industry representatives visited Zaporizhstal. They discussed cooperation possibilities under the heavy economical conditions.
The pipe-makers visited Zaporizhstal’s hot-rolling and cold-rolling shops. They also spoke about the total absence of the state support of the domestic market and the importance of the pipe industry development.
Zaporizhstal has long been working with the Dniepropetrovsk Iron and Steel Works named after Komintern.
“Zaporizhstal is our strategic partner and the primary supplier. It provides us with 95% of the products. We have seen the decrease in output lately. And high competition on the world market. But I believe, that with the help of Zaporizhstal we could overcome all the difficulties”, said the works commercial and financial director Sergey Egorov.
As for Zaporizhstal, its priority market is still domestic.
“Over 50% of our products go to Ukrainian pipe works. We work with such leaders of the industry as Komintern, Interpipe and Trubostal”, added Zaporizhstal sales director Vladimir Kolomiets. (Ukrainian metal)
