DTEK promises to pay Cleaning-Service that now employs workers from Dobropolyeugol mines.
In 2013 DTEK carried out the Vertical Project – the nonspecialized functions and employees have been transferred outside coalmining companies.
Dobropolyeugol Union chairman Alexander Agibalov said that Cleaning-Service employees who cleaned DTEK Dobropolyeugol premises were not paid salary.
“In this company work the most socially vulnerable people: large families, single mothers, etc. So people were starving, if their small salaries were not paid in time. On November 2, they received just 500 UAH. How can one survive with that? I would have to apply for humanitarian aid”, said he.
DTEK press-service underlined that all Cleaning-Service workers would be paid later.
“Cleaning-Service employs some 400 people, mostly women. In November DTEK had to postpone paying its contractors to November 30, as our priority was to pay miners and power engineers. All Cleaning-service employees have been warned beforehand about the 2 weeks delay with salary. But we found the means to transfer funds to Cleaning-Service earlier”, said DTEK in its statement.
