In January-August Ukrainian companies exported 992.85 thousand tons of ferrous metals scrap worth $241.9 million, up by 56% or by 59% and by 10.6% or 22.7% YoY respectively.
In particular, the Customs service has registered exports on the level of 636.26 thousand tons worth $202.2 million, while the State Statistics Service believes it to be 621.26 thousand tons worth $197.14 million.
At the same time scrap imports totaled 1.77 thousand tons, worth $2.4 million, down by 93.3% and 81.1% YoY respectively,
The main suppliers of ferrous metals scrap were Turkey (94.95%) and Moldova (3.77%), with these countries being the main importers as well – 79.83% and 18.92% respectively. (Ukrainian metal)
