In January to June the crude steel production of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, the Ukrainian subsidiary of the global steel giant ArcelorMittal, totalled 3.1153 million tons, up by 17.5% YoY.
In addition, in the first six months of 2012 ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih registered a 13.6% increase YoY in its finished steel output to 2.6835 million tons. During the period in question, pig iron production at ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih increased by 20.1% YoY to 2.7307 million tons.
In June alone crude steel production at ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih increased by 58.2% to 566,700 tons, output of finished steel went up by 48.2% YoY to 491,700 tons and production of pig iron increased by 61% YoY to 501,300 tons. For ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih June was one of its peak production months in H1 because the company managed to attract good order volumes from its traditional market base. (SteelOrbis)
