Ukraine issues output results for the first five months of 2012

According to the data, issued by the Cabinet of Ministers, in the first five months of the current year, Ukraine registered a 7.7% decrease in its finished steel product output to 12.016 million tons, a 4.4% decrease in its crude steel output to 14.044 million tons and a 1% rise in its pig iron production to 12.093 million tons.
The country’s production of metallurgical coke in the given period went down by 0.3% YoY to 8.176 million tons. In the January-May period Ukraine produced 27.765 million tons of iron ore concentrate and 9.423 million tons of iron ore pellets, up by 3% and 4% YoY.
In May Ukraine produced 2.356 million tons of finished steel products, down by 7.5%, 2.919 million tons of crude steel, down by 1% MoM, 2.489 million tons of pig iron, up by 0.4% MoM, and 1.7 million tons of metallurgical coke, up by 1.8% MoM. (SteelOrbis)
