According to the preliminary data, in the first 10 months of the current year Ukraine registered a growth of 6% YoY in its finished steel product output to 25.410 million tons, an increase by 7.7% in its crude steel output to 29.054 million tons and a 6.4% rise in its pig iron production to 24.083 million tons.
The country’s production of metallurgical coke went up by 6.7% YoY to 16.347 million tons during the first 10 months of 2011.
In the January to October period Ukraine produced 54.698 million tons of iron ore concentrate and 11.424 million tons of sintering ore, up by 2.8% and 2.5% YoY respectively.
In October alone Ukraine produced 2.588 million tons of finished steel products, up by 5% MoM, 3.012 million tons of crude steel, up by 4% MoM, 2.562 million tons of pig iron, up by 7% MoM and 1.685 million tons of metallurgical coke, up by 4% MoM. (SteelOrbis)
