According to the data, released by the metal trading enterprise Ukrainian Mining and Metallurgical Company, in January to May Ukrainian exports of semi-finished steel products decreased by 0.1%YoY to 4.781 million tons.
In January to May, Ukraine exported 2.690 million tons of slabs, up by 18.5%, while exports of square billets dropped by 18.6% to 2.044 million tons both compared to the same period of the last year. Meanwhile, exports of semi-finished steel products from Ukraine increased by 3.1% in May compared to April, rising to 1.066 million tons.
On the other hand, Ukrainian imports of semi-finished steel products increased by 15.8% YoY to 191,000 tons.
In May alone imports of semi-finished steel products to Ukraine decreased by 17.3% compared to April, falling to 43,000 tons. (SteelOrbis)
