In January to April the Ukrainian pipe producer Khartsyzsk Pipe Works, a subsidiary of Ukraine’s largest vertically integrated mining and steel group Metinvest, exported 192,000 tons of steel pipes to Russia, 2.5 times more than in the same period last year.
In January to April KhPW had produced 210,000 tons of steel pipes, 194% higher than in the same period of 2010.
Due to strong buying interest from Russian customers, the company plans to produce 540,000 tons of steel pipes in 2011, up by 74.8% YoY including 300,000 tons of steel pipes for export to Russia, three times more than in 2010. (SteelOrbis)
