Ilyich to raise output in 2011

Reuters reported that Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works plans to increase liquid steel output by 5.2% to 5.9 million tons in 2011 from about 5.6 million in 2010.
In 2010 Ukraine’s largest mining and metals group Metinvest, owned by the country’s richest man Mr. Rinat Akhmetov, took over the Ilyich mill.
The plant increased production from 4.3 million tons of liquid steel in 2009.
The company said it also planned to boost rolled steel production by about 29% to 5.2 million tons this year. (Reuters)
