Ukrainian crude steel output in November drops slightly from October

It is reported that Ukrainian crude steel output in November registered a slight decrease with domestic steelmakers producing 2.85 million tons, down by 1.1% MoM.

November performance was mainly driven by increased production of Ukraine’s largest mills, ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih and Metinvest’s two flagship mills, Azovstal and Yenakievo Iron and Steel Works, which expanded their crude steel outputs by 1.1% MoM, 1.1% MoM and 10.5% MoM respectively.
The worst top tier performers in November were the Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works and the Industrial Union of Donbass subsidiaries Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works and Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after F. Dzerzhinsky, which registered 3.5% MoM, 3.2% MoM and 3.1% MoM respectively.
Considering the results from the first 11 months of this year, Ilyich remains a top mill boosting output by 33% with ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih and Azovstal contributing 25% YoY and 24.4% YoY growth rates.

Mr. Eugen Dubogryz, an analyst from BG Capital, said December production should see a slight improvement in daily terms backed by a seasonal demand pick-up ahead of the Chinese New Year in January. (SteelOrbis)
