In January to August Ukraine increased its exports of steel pipes to Russia by 50% YoY to 350,100 tons, including 176,800 tons of seamless pipes, up by 40%, 92,600 tons of welded large diameter pipes, up 12 times, and 80,700 tons of welded medium and small diameter pipes down by 18.6% all compared to January to August 2009.
Meanwhile, in August this year Ukraine’s exports of steel pipes to Russia went up by 49.6% as compared to July to 69,700 tons, mainly due to a 341% MoM increase in exports of welded LD pipes, which amounted to 34,000 tons. The main Ukrainian suppliers of LD pipes to Russia in August were Metinvest’s Khartsyzsk Pipe Works (31,200 tons, up by 467% MoM) and Interpipe 2,800 tons, up by 27% MoM. (SteelOrbis)
