In January-July Ukraine exported 188.039 thousand tons of ferrous scrap, down by 19.4% YoY, valued at $40.627 million, down by 0.9%.

At the same time scrap imports increased by 0.2%, to 15.031 thousand tons, valued at $13.96 million, up 3.4-fold.

The main suppliers of scrap were Turkey (87.44%), Moldova (5.8%) and Russia (3.07%), with Turkey (54.92%), Moldova (38.34%) and Bulgaria (5.36%) being the main importers as well.

In 2016 Ukraine decreased scrap exports by 77.5% YoY, to 272.569 thousand tons, valued at $48.623 million, down by 83.3%, with no exports in July-September, 6.844 thousand tons in October, 11.862 thousand tons in November and 20.485 thousand tons in December.

Imports in 2016 increased 8.1-fold YoY, to 21.911 thousand tons, valued at $9.59 million, up 3.4-fold. (Ukrainian metal)
