In January-June the Tajik Aluminum Company produced 49.101 thousand tons of aluminum, down by 32.8% YoY.
The decrease had to do with the world price jumps on aluminum and the usage of outdated technology, which makes TALCO products uncompetitive.
According to the industry and new technologies minister Shavkat Bobozoda, the only aluminum manufacturer and the main industrial enterprise of the country needs reconstruction.
“This issue has been discussed at the meeting chaired by the president Emomali Rakhmon. The TALCO management was given task to provide government with suggestions on reviving the company in a month”, he said. (Ukrainian metal)
