In September Karabashmed will start replacing converters in its metallurgical shop.

The company intends to increase output to 130 thousand tons of raw copper per year and improve environment safety by implementing the gas-purifying system.

The converters will be put into operation in the middle of the next year.

At present the company operates 3 horizontal converters. They were assembled in 1960s and had the capacity of 40 thousand tons of raw copper. In the process the converters have been modernized and the capacity increased to 60 thousand tons.

In 2017 Russian Copper Company will invest 1.5 billion rubles into Karabashmed. (Ukrainian metal)
