By 2050 the demand for coal will decrease from 69 million tons to 31 million tons.
According to the energy minister Kanat Bozumbayev, this will be the result of the increase in the usage of renewable energy sources.
“In the sector of electricity and heating energy generation coal consumption will fall from 50 million tons to 18 million tons”, he said.
The energy generation from coal will drop from 70% to 22%. (Ukrainian metal)
