In May Ukraine produced 1.689 million tons of steel, up by 7.5% YoY.
According to Ukrmetallurgprom, pig iron output increased by 10.2%, to 1.591 million tons, that of rolled metal – by 6.3%, to 1.424 million tons.
Average daily steel manufacture in May was 54.5 thousand tons, up from 52.4 thousand tons in April.
Average daily pig iron production was 51.3 thousand tons, up from 48.1 thousand tons in April.
In January-May Ukraine produced 8.708 million tons of steel, 7.921 million tons of pig iron and 7.458 million tons of rolled metal, all down by 17.7%, 22.1% and 19.9% YoY respectively. (Ukrainian metal)
