The analytical center of the government held a discussion of the problems of stainless steel manufacture and sales in Russia.
The event was attended by the representatives of the ministry of economic development, the Russian Union of Metal Suppliers, the Pipe Industry Development Fund, the National Association of automobile Parts Manufacturers, MMK, Severstal, TMK, etc.
The experts discussed the current situation on the stainless steel market, the needs of the industry, the necessity to develop local manufacture, the ways to modernize stainless steel manufacture at Chelyabinsk Iron and Steel Works (Mechel), as well as the creation of another major stainless sheet producer.
