State enterprises from Donetsk and Lugansk regions will head the list of the most profitless coal companies in 2017.
Toretskugol with the coal prime cost of 5804 UAH per ton and Pervomayskugol (4250 UAH per ton) will get the most losses this year.
The reason for this is ineffective management and non-transparent operation of the enterprises, as well as thinning of coals and the outdated machinery.
This year the Ministry of energy and coal industry intends to shut down 7 profitless mines; the rest will be modernized at the expense of investments provided under state guarantees. (Ukrainian metal)
