In January-March Seaport St. Petersburg handled 1.8 million tons of cargoes, up by 4.6% YoY.

According to the company statement, the positive dynamics has to do with the increase of metal exports. In particular, throughput of ferrous metals exceeded 1 million tons, up by 57% YoY, non-ferrous metals – 0.4 million tons, up by 1.2%, mostly because of the increase in aluminum exports.

At the same time ferrous scrap exports dropped 2.7-fold, to 77 thousand tons, because of the decrease in purchases from importers and the growth of price on the local market. (Ukrainian metal)
