In January-March Nornickel produced 53 thousand tons of nickel, down by 16% YoY.
According to the company statement, the main reasons for the decline were the shut down of a nickel works in Q3 2016, modernization of Talnakh Processing Factory and the increase of nickel raw materials volumes, sent to Kola and Norilsk Nickel Harjavalta for processing.
Copper output increased by 8%, to 94 thousand tons, palladium manufacture dropped by 14%, to 553 thousand troy ounces, platinum – by 24%, to 130 thousand ounces. (Ukrainian metal)
